One of Fort Worth’s most Instagrammable spots is becoming a treasure trove for public art.
WestBend envisions itself as more than a shopping center, and its budding public art collection is just as big a part of that vision as its Trinity Trails connectivity.
Dallas-based artist Kyle Steed’s work provides WestBend with its most prominent layer of feeling, giving life to cinder block walls of the parking garage, and one wall outside the salon Drybar. Steed isn’t done with his part yet, and still has three levels of elevator-wrap paintings to finish in the garage.
Steed quotes country music legends Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline in two of his murals. Check the lower levels of the parking garage before you leave to make sure you find both.

But Steed’s paintings aren’t the only bits of beautification around. A stunning painting from Fort Worth artist Lauren Childs, of incredibly lifelike succulents, pops from a wall outside the Woodhouse Day Spa.
Then there’s the “love” sculpture, lit by LED lights at night, from San Francisco artist Laura Kimpton. Check out the Star-Telegram’s video tour of the highlights and see if you can spot them all on your next trip.
