Before we reveal the winners of round three of the reader’s bracket, let us make a gentle plea we should have made earlier:

Please vote once per round. OK, once per device per round. We’re OK with you voting, say, on an iPad and a smartphone, but just vote once on each.

This keeps things fair for all the competitors in the bracket, and we should have said it earlier, because although the voting software is designed for one vote per browser, we have found instances of people finding a way around that and voting more than once.

Instances of voting multiple times could lead to forfeits by the restaurants. To vote in round four, go to http://www.star-telegram.com/entertainment//restaurants/burgers. The deadline to vote is 4 p.m. Wednesday.

BACON REGION

Burger behemoth Twisted Root took down Hookers Grill in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

KETCHUP REGION

In a fight between two joints that we have a lot of affection for, Crowley’s funky Nicky D’s beat Fort Worth’s M&O Station Grill.

PICKLE REGION

Call it Dragon power: Southlake’s Johnny B’s beat Fort Worth fave Tommy’s in a tightly contested battle — that, curiously, garnered the smallest amount of votes.

MUSTARD REGION

Although Bedford’s Ted E’s Kitchen was impressive in earlier readers’ bracket rounds, it fell to Arlington’s Tom’s Burgers & Grill in round three. Tom’s, a former readers’ bracket winner, didn’t fare as well with the judges.
