In addition to the upcoming release of his new book, “Capital Gaines,” Chip (sans wife Joanna) will be stopping by Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 5 to take part in pre-race festivities for the AAA Texas 500. As the honorary pace car driver, Chip will lead a pack of 40 drivers, including the round of eight championship contenders, to the green flag in the official 2017 Chevrolet SS pace car.
In a press release for the event, Gaines expressed his excitement to get behind the pace car wheel.
"I'm honored to have been invited to drive the pace car in November, but I can't promise that I'll pull over after the first lap," Gaines said. "And growing up in Colleyville, this might actually be the first time I don't get in trouble for speeding in Roanoke."
Coinciding with Chip’s appearance at Texas Motor Speedway is the launch of the Waco couple’s new line of home decor at Target. Available in stores and online on Nov. 5, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia is a 300-piece collection that will span tabletop, home decor and gifts. All items will range in price from 99 cents to $129.99, with the majority costing under $30.
