When’s the last time you cruised out the front door on a jet ski?

Me neither.

Amid the endless dramatic images of people being rescued by boats and trucks in the Houston area after Hurricane Harvey, a Reddit poster shared a photo of an elderly woman identified as a friend’s grandmother being driven out of her home on the back of a jet ski.

This certainly won’t be the last time you see it:

At least one Tweeter sees a future for the happy hero steering the watercraft out the door:

One Houston commenter on Reddit appreciated the levity: “I think at this point, a lot of us are tired of being sad and angry. ... Through all of this s---, there are still things that can make you smile. Stay safe, y’all.”

The “grandmother” was later identified as Karen Spencer and it turns out that she and her husband, J.C., had called the local Chick-fil-A where they’re regulars when things grew perilous.

“I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg and a boat,” J.C. told ABC News. “And can you believe that one of the managers of Chick-fil-A, she sent her husband to pick us up? And we are so grateful and so thankful.”

ABC News later tracked down the jet ski heroes, Keith Christensen and Winston Savice Jr., and brought them together with the Spencers.

“Thank you,” J.C. told them. “You’re a hero.”

“Someone had to do it, you know?” Savice responded. “I’m glad to see you guys are safe.”
