J.R. Davis led a 13-hit attack by going 4 for 4 and Thomas Hatch pitched a complete-game five hitter, leading Oklahoma State to a 9-0 victory in the first game of a three-game Big 12 series on Friday night.
The Cowboys (24-13, 8-5 Big 12) moved within one game of TCU in the conference standings. The Frogs fell to 9-4 in the Big 12 and 27-9 for the season.
Hatch stymied TCU hitters. Luken Baker, who went 2 for 3, was the only Frogs batter to have more than one hit. It was Baker’s 13th multi-hit game of the season.
A sophomore from Tulsa, Okla., Hatch lowered his ERA to 1.75.

Baker started on the mound for TCU, but was removed after 1 1/3 innings with what coach Jim Schlossnagle described as a possible muscle strain in his right arm.
Baker gave up one hit, walked one and struck out three before leaving. He is expected to continue in his role as designated hitter the rest of the weekend.
Jared Janczak gave up two runs in the third and ran into trouble in the fifth. He gave up six hits and was charged with three earned runs.
TCU committed two errors that led to four Oklahoma State runs.
Despite having only five hits, the Frogs had runners on base seven of the nine innings. But TCU runners were picked off three times and the Frogs hit into one double play.
The Cowboys scored twice in the third inning on a walk, a single, an RBI on a ground out and a run-scoring single by Garrett Binge.
Oklahoma State broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning.
Corey Hassel had a run-scoring single and Jon Littell knocked in two runs with a single.
