Jay Jerrier is bringing his famed Neapolitan pizza to Arlington.

Cane Rosso will open an Arlington location as part of the second phase of the Urban Union development in downtown. Jerrier’s newest Cane Rosso spot will feature the signature brick oven pizzas the restaurant is known for, in addition to an expanded pasta and salad menu.

The new location will be at the corner of East Front Street and North East Street, in the former Joe’s Radiator building, and is planned to open later this year. This will be the eighth location after closing the one in Fairview.

“We’ve had customers asking us to come to Arlington for years, and we finally felt the neighborhood vibe we were looking for with Urban Union,” said Jerrier in a news release. “We love the vision for the area and feel like we’ll be a great fit for our new neighbors. We’ve got some really fun things planned for the space.”

The plans for the new restaurant include a covered patio dining area and a full service bar.

The announcement of the new Cane Rosso location marks the beginning of the second phase of development at Urban Union. The mixed-use area officially opened in 2017 and already houses 4 Kahuna’s Tiki Lounge, Board and Brush, Legal Draft Brewery, Tipsy Oak Ice House and Cartel Taco Bar. Texas Axe Throwing Co. will open soon.

The second phase will include expansion along East Front Street. A new building will be constructed at the corner of East Front Street and North Mesquite Street. The buildings along the East Front expansion will be mixed use, office and retail space.
